About Brian Surguine Photography

Brian and Marsie are a husband and wife team. We photograph weddings with patient, introspective eyes, seeking to bring out people's unique personalities in their images. We work with vivid colors, crisp monochromes, and authentic emotions.

Currently based in Portland, Oregon, Brian and Marsie photograph weddings all over the United States.

What is Documentary Photography?

Documentary photography is a type of coverage that emphasizes storytelling through images. To accomplish this, we as photographers adopt a style that is unobtrusive, yet nimble and creative. We constantly anticipate and photograph all the wonderful interactions that develop throughout a wedding day. This means being in the right place at the right time, and understanding how to include context and environment. The result is a body of work that feels like you are "there" - couples frequently tell me that browsing through their gallery feels like being back at their wedding.

To see what this looks like in practice, feel free to browse through one of the galleries in the "Weddings" section of this website.

Brian Surguine Photography supports The Brides Project in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Brides Project accepts donated gowns, which are sold to brides-to-be at below cost, with all profits going to cancer charities.

Where possible, Brian Surguine Photography seeks to support local businesses and reduce our impact on the environment.
